Notes on the Spanish vocabulary files

The Spanish vocabulary files supplied with Interlex adhere to the following conventions:

• Most nouns are preceded by the definite article, which is not translated.
• The article is omitted before country names such as España.
• Nouns of variable gender are preceded by el/la.
• Gender is indicated if it is not apparent from the article, e.g. el agua.
