Notes on the German vocabulary files
The German vocabulary files supplied with Interlex adhere to the following conventions:
- Nouns are preceded by the definite article, which is not translated.
- If a plural form exists it is given in brackets after the noun, e.g. der Markt (Märkte).
- A dash indicates that the plural is formed by adding to the singular, e.g. die Bank (-en).
- A solitary dash indicates that there is no change in the plural, e.g. der Pullover (-).
- Prepositional and/or case government is indicated in brackets, the case being preceded by a plus sign, e.g. vertrauen (+dat.), sich verlieben (in +acc.)
- Spelling conforms to the recently introduced Rechtschreibreform.
